Why I started Write and Craft

Why I started Write and Craft

If you've read any of my posts here on this blog, or if you've followed any of my journey on social media with starting Write and Craft, you will know that I love stationery, writing, and journaling. But if you've ever wondered what takes someone from "stationery lover", to "stationery store owner", I'm here to tell you about it.

I've always loved to journal. I love to write something down each day, and keep a record of special important times in my life. I have kept baby journals for each of my children, I love my recipe journal, and I love my everyday writing journal as well. I'm not as creative as some of the beautiful creative journalers I see on social media, but writing something a few times a week in my journal is something that is important to me and something I really enjoy.

I also enjoy different types of writing as well. I've had dreams of writing a book one day, and love to also handwrite letters. I find handwriting anything feels calming and enjoyable. Writing letters, writing plot ideas and writing journal entries are some things I really enjoy.

As well as writing, I have also always loved stationery. I am the type of person that goes and tries out ten different pens in the stationery store and buys all of them. I love buying different designs for journals and notebooks. I love having multiple notebooks all around my house, including on my desk, in my bag, and beside my bed. I love having nice writing pens, markers, and pencils for all my writing projects, and I really appreciate a great notebook and planner design. Whenever I see a beautiful design on any stationery, I have to buy it. I have piles of nice notebooks and journals that I use all the time because of their designs, and I love purchasing new planners each year, and choosing based on which designs I love.

I love having a planner and a journal for all the different purposes. I have baby and pregnancy journals for all my children, and I have really enjoyed making scrapbooks and journals for my travels, planners for each year, and when I  got married, I loved my wedding planner. Every special time in my life, I have enjoyed having a beautiful journal and planenr to help me through it.

I also have worked in the small online business space before. I previously owned another small business in the past as well, selling gifts and hampers online and sending them throughout Australia. I learnt a lot while running that business, including learning how to start, market and run an online business on a shoestring budget. It's something I loved and quickly became good at.

When I suddenly had some more time on my hands while on maternity leave, and looking for a new creative project (as if I didn't have enough on my plate already!) I decided to combine several of my loves together to bring Write and Craft together. I love writing, crafting, stationery, and running a small business. Then, in January of this year (2025), Write and Craft was born. While this business is still in it's infancy, I am truly enjoying being able to share my passions with all my followers, visitors, and customers. I also feel very priveliged and lucky to be able to spend all this time sharing all my passions with all of you.

I'm also enjoying planning for the future for Write and Craft. My next plan is to create a 365 days of journaling guide. I'm so excited and I will definitely be trying out all of the 365 days with everyone, and I'll be sharing it on social media with all of you.
