Why I’m giving my friend a wedding planner for her engagement

A friend of mine recently got engaged. It was a really exciting moment for them both, with a proposal at a beautiful lake in our town, and a very, very happy couple. Next week they are having an engagement party with some friends and family, and I will be gifting the happy couple a wedding planner (the book type, not the person who plans your wedding for you!). I’m excited to be able to give my friend this beautiful gift from my own Write and Craft business, but also excited because I just loved my wedding planner when it was my turn to get married a few years ago. I want to share this with my beautiful friend!

I am gifting her this wedding planner. It has everything a bride and groom-to-be need for planning their wedding, including budgets, timelines, wedding guides, engagement parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, flowers, venues, contacts, vendors, and more. I can’t wait to gift this to her! Here is a link to our section of wedding planners and wedding guest books.

In this blog post, I’d love to share with you the reasons why I’m giving my friend this special gift:

The beauty of a physical wedding planner:

I have known this friend for many years, and I know she loves things practical and organised. I know she loves having everything in front of her, and loves a place to write things down. She uses a planner and a calendar and keeps these updated regularly. I think she will love having a wedding planner. She will love writing down her ideas, going through all the prompts, and reading through the comprehensive wedding guides. She will love organising each part of the day and I know the wedding planner will help her through the process.

I want her to enjoy the process:

My friend will only get to plan her wedding once. Planning a wedding is something that brides-to-be can really enjoy, or can easily become overwhelmed by. I want to help my friend enjoy her wedding planning. I want her to enjoy scoping out locations, planning the guest list, choosing the flowers, and booking the venue. I want to help her keep the overwhelm at bay, and enjoy the beautiful experience that is planning a special day for her and her fiancé.

Helping with her Planning and organisation:

My friend is among the most organised people I know. She keeps a planner and calendar which she updates all the time. She is always on time, always organised, and loves making lists. I know she will enjoy the wedding planner for this. She will be able to write down everything that needs doing, and plan out the following months of wedding planning, giving herself deadlines, timelines, and goals for her planning. I am sure she will be happy to have everything together in the one place, and she can keep referring back to her planner and keep putting her new ideas in there. She will not be able to forget anything with it all written down. In the wedding planner, there are spaces for all the important things such as guest lists, running sheets, vendors, and contacts, and I know my friend will appreciate these.

A practical gift:

I love to give practical gifts. These days, everyone always has lived out of home and lived together for a long time before they decide to get married. No one needs the sets of plates, sheets, and homewares that were traditional wedding and engagement gifts, but I love giving something practical that I know will be used. I know this wedding planner will be something that is appreciated, used and loved throughout the process of planning the wedding and well beyond.

Within the planner, there are practical pages for all the elements of planning a wedding. With space for budgeting, timelines, contacts, guest lists, vendors, dresses and more, as well as comprehensive guides on flowers, attire, and beauty, this gift is full of practical information and resources for wedding planning. This is a practical gift I know she will love.

A special keepsake:

I got married several years ago. My cousin gifted me a wedding planner book for my engagement, and I still have it. I still keep it on my shelf next to our wedding album, photo books, wedding guest book, and other keepsake items. It’s something I go back over on our wedding anniversary, and something my children have looked through. It’s a keepsake that is truly personal for our day, and it chronicles the process we went through planning our wedding. I hope that my friend keeps her wedding planner for years to come as well, and can look back with fond memories, reminding her of the special time in the lead up to her wedding.

Everything in one place:

Many brides-to-be have Pinterest boards, Instagram accounts, and magazines all about wedding planning and wedding inspiration. These are all amazing for helping you find your style, find things you love, and learn about how the wedding industry works. But I want my friend to have something practical to keep with her when she visits wedding venues, meets with vendors, and plans each facet of her dream wedding. The wedding planner is perfect for this. She can write down exactly what she wants, and she can have the planner with her at all times.

My friend is having her engagement party over the weekend and I can’t wait to share this wedding planner with her. I’m gifting her the Wedding Planner Luxe Edition – Nude and I know she is going to love it. If you have someone close to you who is recently engaged, a wedding planner makes a beautiful engagement gift that I know the special couple will love.
